2011-12 quiz season team fees...

Posted 16 Oct, 2011 06:54 PM by Tamara

I was just looking back over the minutes from last springs NYI council meeting.  The motion was made and carried that said that we would be charging a $35 flat fee per team for the 2011-12 quiz season.  I am sorry that I have failed to relay that information and in some cases have relayed other information.

Please plan to bring a check for the number of teams your church has had at the quizzes for the last 3 months.  For instance Westside would need to submit a check for $70 to the district because we have 2 teams.  If you are a combined team (Richmond) I will let you determine how you will split the $35.

I am pretty certain that I have lost some e-mail addresses somehow.  Please, please and please again send me an e-mail at indyquiz@gmail.com so that I can capture your e-mail address.
Also, I do not have stats from October as of yet.  I will get those to you asap.
One other thing to keep in mind.  We take 2 district teams to St.Louis in December.  Those 2 teams consist of the top 10 quizzers on the district at the finish of the November quiz.  The top 10 will be determined using this formula:  We will take the quizzers average of Aug., Sept., Oct. and Nov. quizzes dropping one months average.  So for instance a quizzer has an 85 for Aug,  79 for Sept., 0 for Oct. and 85 for Nov. we will drop Oct. and average the other 3 months.  This may take a little extra time at the November quiz, but I have faith that our awesome statistician can handle this.  :)

Please stay tuned to this website for updates!  :)

Quiz year so far.....

Posted 20 Sep, 2011 09:56 AM by Tamara

OK sorry I have not posted anything yet this season.....it's been a busy fall for me and this just frankly slipped to the bottom of my list of priorities.

But here we go!  August, even though I was gone, seemed to be a great start for so many!  Congratulations to all the quizzers that did their best and had a great month!  September, even with a few glitches, proved to be a great month as well.  New people coming up in the ranks, a new team learning and doing their best at the schedule we have, etc.  : )

Now on to October!  : )  As I said in the final meeting of September we will be combining with NWI (I know I said NEI I have made that mistake 2 too many times!) for our district quiz.  Brad Osborne, the director of that district, asked me back in the spring when we were practicing as district teams for RCL if that would be a possibility.  His district is very small right now and they don't have much competition because of that.  SO, I agreed and we will be making the trip to Lebanon First Church of the Nazarene for our October quiz.  I know it will be a bit of a drive for some of you and I hope that doesn't keep you from coming.  I did ask him to put us in the church that is the farthest east on his district for that reason.  Please allow yourself plenty of time to make it to the church as we will still start at 9 a.m. and wrap up by about 1 p.m.  : )

Here is the church information:
Lebanon First Church of the Nazarene

1122 Garfield St., Lebanon, IN 46052-1671

See you there!
